Children’s Services
The Sumter County Library provides programs and services for children from birth to twelve years of age. There are collections ranging from picture and board books for babies and toddlers to materials for older children. The Children’s Services Department also provides materials for parents and teachers, as well as bilingual materials in Spanish and English.
The Children’s Department provides year-round involvement
for our younger patrons with Storytimes for preschoolers
throughout the year, an outreach program for children
in daycare centers, an extensive summer program,
as well as special events throughout the year.
These are provided free of charge and are open to the
public. See Event Calendar for details.
Students can get homework help via the Internet, educational databases and digital content using your Sumter County Library card at Discus and Overdrive.
Check out our Educational Resources or come in to one of our library locations to get assistance with finding materials that will help your children succeed in school and in life. We would also love for you to join us at any of our programs designed to help your kids create and learn.
